I had written in my 1st blog of 2012 that I had a feeling that this year would be better and today was a glimpse of that reality. I say reality because I will try my hardest to make sure that this year will be better.
Anyways, my day starting with me sleeping in as I had a long day ahead and I had a long and late shift at work the day before. I woke up and made delicious pancakes for everyone.
Then I had such a long and great conversion with my mom as I helped her cut all the meat in these 2 huge bags that a friend of hers had dropped off for her a few hours earlier. We covered so many topics but we especially spoke of my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary soon <3 and so I was asking my moms opinion on what she thought of my gift ideas and plans. The conversion seemed to gear towards how much my parents - especially my mother - liked him and how looking back, none if us expected either of us to be together as he just seemed too hyper, immature, and full of himself but boy were we all WRONG!!! He is so sweet and so humble and since we've been dating, he has matured so much. I'm so proud of him and am so grateful to have him in my life and by my side.
As if all of this wasn't sweet enough; my boyfriend picked me up from work and surprised not only me but also himself. Out of the blue, he asked if I wanted to take a walk in the park close by since it was such a nice night. Thinking it an absolutely adorable idea, I said yes!
Now, I should mention that this park is very close to my old high school and so I had a lot of great memories there including a few of when my boyfriend and I had just started dating in my senior year. As we were walking, he would point out certain spots where we shared great memories - memories I hadn't thought about for awhile but that were so nice to be reminded of. Like the spot where he had come to pick me up after I had just gotten back from going to Chicago with my school for a week and how I had ran straight towards him and he caught me in a great embrace. Or when he had picked me up and parked his car there so that we could walk to that great restaurant I knew and pick up some of the best sandwiches I've ever tried, just before I had to go back to school as I was part of the school play. Or the spot where he surprised me and brought his new motorcycle to show off to me. And finally, that bench we sat on the night of the last play performance where he first told me he loved me. <3 I wasn't yet ready to say it back then, but he understood and I really appreciated it. Slowly, I came to realize just how much I did love this guy; especially in that moment where we re-lived our first moments together. Then we compared how we were then to how we are now and I must say, I am so proud of the both of us -we have both grown so much! & I'm so happy we got to do that together.
And then just for old times sake, we decided to go to the desert place where he shared our 1st date nearly two years ago.

This all actually happened on Saturday, February 4th, 2012. I was one minute late or it would have had the right date on it but I only finished publishing it at 12am! Oh well..
